Position Summary

Paragon Heavy Haul is seeking an experienced Heavy Haul Driver to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience hauling large construction equipment and operating multi-axle trailers. This role involves safely transporting heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, compactors, and scrapers across various sites while ensuring all operations comply with safety and regulatory standards.

 

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport heavy construction equipment, including excavators, loaders, compactors, and scrapers, to multiple sites.

  • Operate multi-axle trailers such as 5-axle, 7-axle, and 9-axle lowbed trailers for equipment transportation.

  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure compliance with DOT and company safety regulations.

  • Secure loads properly and manage all loading/unloading tasks efficiently.

  • Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including logs and equipment inspections.

  • Adhere to all company policies, as well as federal, state, and local transportation regulations.

 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 3+ years of experience hauling heavy construction equipment.

  • Proficiency in operating 5-axle, 7-axle, and 9-axle lowbed trailers.

  • Valid CDL with a clean driving record.

  • Willingness to work 40+ hours per week.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently across multiple job sites

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Positive attitude and commitment to safety

 

Work Environment

  • Frequent travel between job sites/across state lines throughout the day

  • Work may involve early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overtime depending on project needs

 

Physical Demands & Requirements

  • Ability to drive for extended periods with sustained focus

  • Variable work schedule, including nights and weekends

  • Capable of standing, walking, and conducting inspections in various weather conditions

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50–75 pounds regularly

  • Ability to climb on and off heavy equipment and service trucks safely

  • Must be physically capable of performing repetitive tasks and working long shifts
